Set Aside Fear
Jolea Hunter
'Sit by the warmth of the open fire, Capture its magic in us; Feel the flames burn, like our own two hearts, As they dance and entwine into one. Hunter's moving poetry deals not only with problems affecting today's society as a whole, but also honestly depicts events in the poet's own life. From child labour, to the personal loss of one's own child, Hunter examines a spectrum of issues with candour and bluntness. These thought-provoking concerns are offset by light-hearted poems about Jim Morrison and the Beatles. Yet, ultimately, this collection leaves the reader with a sense of having been uplifted by the poet's unflinching faith and strength throughout adversity.
