Walter H. Durfee & His Clocks
Burt Burt
Walter Durfee, also known as the Father of the Modern Grandfather Clock, rejuvenated the tall clock industry. Authors Owen and Jo Burt have spent the past 30 years gathering a massive amount of information about Durfee by speaking with various Durfee clock owners, attending clock auctions featuring Durfee items, examining and recording fake Durfee clocks, and researching old historical records. They now tell the complete story of Durfee's life, business, and tall clock production.
