The Outlaw (AKA Lope)

Set in 16th Century Spain a talented playwright and soldier, Lope de Vega returns to Madrid from the war. and gets work as a copyist. Lope soon falls for his boss's daughter Elena but must keep the relationship secret. Soon Lope discovers that Elena has a secret of her own, that she is already married. Lope decides to expose Elena and her father but finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
