English Medium for Collegiate Level Science Classes in Sri Lanka: Theory, Policy and Practice

The book explores the contemporary phenomenon of English as medium of instruction in science education in general and the reintroduction of English medium for collegiate level science classes in Sri Lanka in particular. Lakshman Wedikkarage addresses key issues that need to be identified and resolved before English is used as medium of instruction in a country where educational services have been successfully provided using her vernacular languages, namely, Sinhala and Tamil nearly a half a century.
