Tinjure-Milke-Jaljale Rhododendron Conservation area recognized as the capital of Rhododendron in Nepal boasts of more than twenty eight species from thirty two species recorded from Nepal. It was declared as a conservation area under EPA and EPR Act in 1997. It is mountainous area with rugged geographical terrain and characterized by high dependency on natural resources due to the presence of human settlement in the middle of dense rhododendron forest area leading to consumption of the natural resources that leads to the deforestation and environmental degradation. The book enlightens on the direct contribution from the conservation area in the poverty reduction (livelihood improvement) of the community?s from poverty line ($1.25/person/day) as well as national standard (12,000/person/annum) It has also investigated the direct contribution from conservation area towards reducing the poverty of the area in terms of food, fodder and fuel as direct benefit.
