Marlene Dietrich, John Lund and Jean Arthur star in this romantic comedy directed by Billy Wilder. US Congresswoman Phoebe Frost (Arthur) is sent to Berlin on an assignment to investigate cabaret singer Erika von Schlütow (Dietrich)'s former links to high-ranking Nazi officials during WWII. However, when she enlists the help of Captain John Pringle (Lund) she is unaware that he is involved in an affair with Erika already.
