Immutable is the band's ninth album, and their first since 2016's The Violent Sleep of Reason . The title may seem mysterious for a band, who never stood still musically. But their constant innovation and curiosity is the unchanging core that defines Meshuggah's approach to songwriting. At the same time, the title is a gloomy statement about humanity as such. About the fact that we make the same mistakes over and over. That we never seem to change.
