The Ultimate Pickup Test Record Vinyl Essentials Audiophile edition

What test signals does a test record worthy of its name have to contain? In any case, a channel identification - you wouldn't believe how many systems have the channels mixed up. A phase check is essential, since correct polarity is a basic prerequisite for timing and space. VTA and azimuth settings are indispensable, because you don't want a groove cutter. Essential (nomen est omen) is a tonearm/system resonance check to determine whether and how these two core components fit together. And of course a control for the scanning capability, so that each system gives its best. And permanently.

Because the scanning test frequently used for antiskating is subject to particularly heavy groove wear, this test tape is represented not once and not twice, but three times on the test record. By alternately using the three absolutely identical test tracks, a reliable check of this sound-decisive parameter should be guaranteed for years. We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
